Back DONNA CRAIG
PROFESSOR
"You can’t be a lawyer by learning legislation, because passion isn’t learned in books" Hi, I'm Professor Donna Craig and I lecture on Environmental and Indigenous Law at UWS.

I've been a passionately involved in both human and environmental laws all my professional life, because there is a unique connection between human and environmental rights and both are being violated. For example, Aboriginal culture is deeply imbedded in the land and water resources of our country, and yet we've built a contemporary economy on them.

Humans have enormous destructive power so unless we develop human justice we'll never protect the environment. At UWS you have a unique opportunity to get involved in the community and help it, through their relationship with the Parramatta Legal Precinct, which no other university has.

You can't be a lawyer by learning legislation, because passion isn't learned in books, it's learned by working in the public interest. Everyone can make a positive difference to the planet and the people who live on it, if they have a passion for it. If you've got the passion, come to UWS and we'll give you the skills to use it.
